Packing Tips for your Belize Vacation

You are so excited about your newly booked trip to Ambergris Caye, Belize! The flight is scheduled, the vacation rental at La Perla Del Caribe is booked, and the itinerary of fun things to do has been made. Now…what to pack! Here are five things you don’t want to forget when traveling to Ambergris Caye.

Sun Protection

You will be spending as much time as possible outside enjoying the sights of Ambergris Caye. The sun on the island is strong so protection is a must. There’s nothing worse than being so burnt you can’t go out the next day. Cover up with sunscreen, a big hat, and long sleeve, breathable shirts. There’s plenty of time to get the tan you want to go home with so pace yourself when soaking in the sun.

Waterproof Phone Case

Today our phones are not just a device to call or text, it’s our network to everything. We need our phones to find out where we are and get us to where we are going. We need them to capture amazing sights by camera or video. With all the water adventures to be had on Belize, you can’t afford to damage your phone! 

Rain Jacket or Poncho

Even outside of the rainy season there is potential for tropical rain showers in Belize. Don’t let it catch you off guard leaving you soaked and soggy. A small lightweight rain jacket or poncho that can be folded up and kept in your purse or backpack is all you need.

Underwater Camera

Belize is known for incredible sights under the water. Coral Garden is one of the best snorkeling sites for beginners, with shallow depths and diverse coral. Mexico Rocks is a cluster of coral heads providing home to a wide variety of marine life. You will want to snap pictures of everything to remember this amazing adventure you will have underwater.

Passport

You definitely do not want to forget this. It would be a shame to get all the way to the airport without your passport and have to wave goodbye to your friends and family as they fly away without you. So, get it out early, make sure it is up to date, take a copy of it just in case, and place it where you won’t forget it!
