An Adventure on Land in Ambergris Caye
An adventure in Ambergris Caye awaits. You’ve booked your trip and are now making your itinerary for a vacation on the islands. You plan to snorkel in the crystal clear water, fish and cook your catch, soak in the sun, relax in a hammock and enjoy a cocktail while taking in an amazing sunset. This is what an island vacation is all about. However, if you can somehow pull yourself away from the beautiful blue sea Belize offers some exciting activities on land.
Xunantunich is an Ancient Maya archaeological site in western Belize. It’s located atop a ridge above the Mopan River and within sight of the Guatemala border. Climb to the top of Xunantunich “Stone Woman” or take a tour and learn about local legends.
If you are looking for a real adventure try Cave Tubing and Aerial Zip Lining. Hike through the rainforest then hop on a water tube for an exciting ride through ancient Mayan caves. Zip Lining is an incredibly thrilling adventure. Fly through the jungle’s canopy on a series of connected platforms while taking in incredible views of the forest and wildlife.
Known as the “Best Little Zoo in the World”, Belize Zoo is a must see. Starting in 1983 as a last effort to provide a home for a collection of wild animals used in making documentary films about tropical forests this “backyard zoo” grew into 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 170 animals. Representing over 45 species, all native to Belize, visitors will be introduced to the animals of Belize and educated on why it is important to protect the habitats that sustain them.
Whether you’re a land lover or all about the ocean, Belize has something for you. Your adventure in Ambergris Caye awaits at La Perla del Caribe Resort.
