An Adventurous Day in Ambergris Caye

Ambergris Caye is Belize’s largest island located next to the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere. Ambergris Caye is a thrill seekers paradise with big and exciting attractions! This is a popular local’s concoction made of dried seaweed, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Kick it up with a shot of rum or brandy before noon and let the adventure begin!

Belize’s Shark-Alley “Swim with the Sharks Dive” has been selected as one of the seven best “animal dives” in the Caribbean.  As soon as you arrive the Dive Master points out all of the dark shadows in the 8 foot deep waters. These are just the sharks that hear the boat approach and hospitably come to meet their adventurers. These creatures have a great tolerance for divers and enjoy interacting with humans. Snorkelers are welcome and can enjoy this encounter with nature.

Cobblestone streets lead to a wide array of restaurants, bars, shops and area tours. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant on the beach. Walk alongside the ocean while sipping on a local cocktail. Take a nap in a hammock, make small talk with friendly locals (they always know the best places to eat), watch a soccer game, shop for locally made arts & crafts and watch an amazing sunset over the reef.
