Fishing on Ambergris Caye

Across the world Ambergris Caye is recognized as a fishing paradise. Gear up and experience some of the best fishing there is along the beautiful barrier reef. We offer a number of different fly or reef fishing packages and the price range is dependent on ½ day or full day.  

Fly Fishing in the shallow, calm waters of the Caribbean is the ultimate in sport fishing. Explore the endless turtle grass flats, searching for the mighty Tarpon, invisible Bonefish, and the ever-elusive Permit. These species can be caught using fly rod or spinning rod. Never been Fly Fishing before, No Problem! The guides are masters and have initiated many anglers into the art of Fly Fishing. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel dock unless other arrangements are made. The boat will take 1 or 2 passengers only. Pickup time is at 7AM but can be changed if needed.

Reef fishing is the most popular fishing done by visitors to Ambergris Caye and is full of action! Snapper, barracuda, jacks and grouper are just some of the common catches on a typical fishing day trip. Reef fishing may be done as half day or full day charters and all the tackle gear and bait is provided. How about lunch? On a full day charter, you can catch some fish and cook out on the beach. Your guide will prepare your catch at a beautiful secluded beach for you. Have some beer, soda, or ceviche while you wait for lunch. The food is great and you can’t beat fresh fish. After a great lunch, it is your perfect time to take a dip in the water and enjoy our great barrier reef, so don’t forget to bring your swimsuit and even snorkeling gear.

Deep Sea fishing in the deep blue water is just a short trip past the reef, never more than a few miles away where you will go for Wahoo, Dorado, Blue Marlin, Black Fin Tuna, King Mackerel, Grouper, Barracuda and more. Our guide can your catch and most local restaurants will cook it for you!
